Car Window Tinting | Virginia Beach

Commonwealth Window Tinting installs premium ceramic car window tint for Virginia Beach drivers, just 13 minutes from Virginia Beach Town Center and 23 minutes from the Oceanfront. Every car is tinted inside our Chesapeake shop with computer-cut MaxPro film, so you get clean edges, no bubbles, and tint that's legal under Virginia law. Most cars are done in 1 to 3 hours.

Why Virginia Beach Drivers Choose Commonwealth Window Tinting

• In-shop only, never mobile. Every install happens inside our shop at 317 Great Bridge Blvd, not in a parking lot or driveway where wind, dust and salt air get trapped under the film.

• Computer-cut film. Each pattern is cut to fit your exact vehicle on our Graphtec plotter, for precise, consistent edges.

• MaxPro ceramic film. Premium film built to handle coastal sun.• 20+ years in business. A+ rated and accredited by the BBB.

• 4.9 stars on Google from over 400 reviews.

• 2026 Quality Business Award winner for Best Window Tinting in Chesapeake.• Lifetime warranty options on qualifying films.

Ceramic Window Tint Built for Virginia Beach Sun

Coastal sun turns a parked car into an oven, and UV fades and cracks your interior over time. Ceramic tint uses non-metal ceramic particles to block heat without making your windows dark. It won't interfere with your phone, GPS or radio. Our MaxPro ceramic film blocks up to 99% of UV rays and up to 96% of heat, so your car stays cooler, your AC works less, and your seats and dash last longer.

Ceramic vs. Carbon Tint

• Ceramic: the most heat rejection, the clearest view, and no signal interference. Best for daily commuters, Teslas and EVs, and cars with dark interiors.• Carbon: a budget-friendly option with a clean matte look and solid heat reduction. Not sure which one fits your budget? Virginia Tint Laws | Virginia Beach Tinting Laws

Virginia Beach follows state law, Code of Virginia § 46.2-1052. Every tint we install is legal for your vehicle type.

• Front side windows: at least 50% light transmission (VLT) on every vehicle.

• Rear side windows and back window, cars: at least 35% VLT.

• Rear side windows and back window, SUVs, vans and pickup trucks: any darkness allowed.

• Windshield: tint only above the AS-1 line.

• Reflectivity: no more than 20% on any window.

VLT is the percentage of light the tint lets through, so a lower number is darker. Need darker tint for a medical condition? See our medical exemption guide. For the full breakdown, read our Virginia window tint law guide.
